The promoter of the competition

The promoter of the competition is: The 1851 Trust, The Camber, East Street,

Portsmouth, Hampshire PO1 2JJ and the competition and any publicity or marketing activity relating to the competition will be administered by Media Zoo, 8 The Boulevard, London, SW6 2UB

  1. The competition

2.1 The title of the competition is “Zero to Hero”

2.2. Win a bundle of signed sports kit for your school!

  1. How to enter

3.1 The competition will run from 10:00 AM on 1st March 2021  11:59 on 30th April 2021 inclusive.

3.2 All competition entries must be received by The 1851 Trust at the web address set out at condition 2 above by no later than 11:59 on the Closing Date. All competition entries received after the Closing Date are automatically disqualified.

3.3 To enter the competition, sign up to STEM Crew, ensuring you include the following information: https://www.stemcrew.org/register/

  • Your name;
  • Your School Name
  • Your Job title
  • Your contact email address;
  • Your contact telephone number;

3.4 No purchase is necessary, and there is no charge to enter or submit an entry through the web address referred to in condition 2.2 above.

3.5 The 1851 Trust will not accept:

  • responsibility for competition entries that are incomplete regardless of cause, including, for example, as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind; or
  • proof of transmission as proof of receipt of entry to the competition.

3.6 By submitting a competition entry as described above, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

3.8 Entries into the competition will be entered into a computer automated number generator to determine the winner.

  1. Eligibility

4.1 The competition is only open to UK secondary schools but excludes:

(a) employees of The 1851 Trust or its holding or subsidiary companies;

(b) employees of agents or suppliers of The 1851 Trust or its holding or subsidiary companies, who are professionally connected with the competition or its administration; or

(c) members of the immediate families or households of (a) and (b) above.

4.2 In entering the competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize. The 1851 Trust may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the competition.

4.3 The 1851 Trust will not accept competition entries that are, or have been:

(a) automatically generated by computer;

(b) completed by third parties or in bulk;

(c)incomplete

4.4 There is a limit of one entry to the competition per person (teacher). Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted. Schools may submit multiple entries provided the full details are provided for each teacher.

4.5 The 1851 Trust reserves all rights to disqualify you if your conduct is contrary to the spirit or intention of the competition.

4.6 Competition entries cannot be returned.

 

  1. The prize

5.1 The prize is a bundle of signed sports kit from the INEOS sports teams. Prizes will go to one school from each region (of the UK). Schools will be responsible for the distribution of any prizes won. (Regions: Wales, Scotland, East Midlands, East of England, Greater London, North East & Cumbria, North West, Northern Ireland, South East, South West, West Midlands, Yorkshire & the Humber)

5.2 The prize is not negotiable or transferable.

5.3 In order to claim any prize, winners must contact Media Zoo within seven days of being notified by The 1851 Trust that they have won. Failure to do so may result in the prize being redistributed.

 

  1. Winners

6.1 The decisions of The 1851 Trust are final, and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.

6.2 Media Zoo will, on The 1851 Trust’s behalf, contact the winner personally as soon as practicable after the Announcement Date referred to in clause 6.3 below, using the telephone number or email address provided with the competition entry. The 1851 Trust or Media Zoo will not amend any contact information once the competition entry form has been submitted.

6.3 The 1851 Trust must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation, The 1851 Trust will publish the name of the winning school and staff member no later than 14th May 2021 (Announcement Date).

 

 

  1. Claiming the prize

7.1 If you are the winner of the prize, you will have seven days from the Announcement Date to claim that prize by contacting Media Zoo at consumerpr@mediazoo.tv. If you do not claim a prize by this date, your claim will become invalid.

7.2 Prizes may not be claimed by a third party on your behalf.

7.3 Media Zoo will make all reasonable efforts to contact each winner. If a winner cannot be contacted or is not available, or has not claimed their prize within seven days of the Announcement Date, The 1851 Trust reserves the right to offer any prize to the next eligible entrant selected by the automated system before the Closing Date.

7.4 The 1851 Trust or Media Zoo do not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up any prize.

 

  1. Limitation of liability

Insofar as is permitted by law, The 1851 Trust, its agents, distributors or marketing, public relations or communications service providers will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up any prize except where it is caused by the negligence of The 1851 Trust, its agents, distributors or marketing, public relations or communications service providers or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

 

  1. Data protection and publicity

9.1 The 1851 Trust will only process your personal information as set out in these terms and conditions.

9.2 By entering the competition, you agree either on your own behalf or on behalf of your school to allow The 1851 Trust and Media Zoo to use, for the purpose of the operation and promotion of the competition and any related marketing or public relations activity, to use any and all personal data contained within your entry.

9.3 You do not object, either on your own behalf or on behalf of your school, to either The 1851 Trust or Media Zoo (acting as a provider of marketing and public relations services to The 1851 Trust) storing copies of your personal data.

9.4 You have the right to withdraw, either on your own behalf or on behalf of your school, the consent you have given at any time by contacting Media Zoo at consumerpr@mediazoo.tv  This will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out by The 1851 Trust or Media Zoo before any consent it withdrawn.

9.5 The 1851 Trust is the controller and responsible for the personal data contained within your entry and Media Zoo is a processor of personal data on The 1851 Trust’s behalf in relation to the operation and promotion of the competition.

9.6 The 1851 Trust will ensure that it complies (and that Media Zoo comply) with the requirements or any and all legislation and regulatory requirements in force from time to time relating to the use of the personal data within your entry and will process that personal data in accordance with its privacy policy, which can be found here: https://www.stemcrew.org/privacy-policy/

 

9.7 Please also see condition 6.3 and condition 6.4, with regard to the announcement of winners. 

  1. General

10.1 If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, The 1851 Trust may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.

10.2 The 1851 Trust reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the competition where it becomes necessary to do so.

10.3 These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
