Our free key stage 3 and key stage 4 physics teaching resources will help bring the science to life, applying subject knowledge to real-world scenarios through the INEOS TEAM UK’s challenge for the America’s Cup, the Formula 1 of international sailing.
Physics is a key subject that feeds into many other areas of the curriculum, helping students to understand the world around them through the study of topics including forces, energy, electricity, matter, and space.
STEM Crew offer multiple resources that will help make teaching physics more exciting, engaging, and immersive, for you and your class. By relating concepts back to interesting, real life scenarios, our resources help to make the subject more fun, engaging, and relatable.
Our energy stores and transfers resources cover the different ways energy can be stored and transferred, using the real life context of how energy is stored on racing boats, as well as the ways that energy is transferred between the boat and its surroundings, and how the crew act as energy stores for controlling the boat.
Another great resource focuses on mechanisms, covering the relationship between forces, area, and pressure through the use of levers, pulleys, gears and hydraulics to steer the boat.
Each resource provides a main video to introduce the topics, the context, and the learning or challenge. It will also include several worksheets for students to explore the different mathematical challenges, including practical investigations, quizzes, and tasks.
