Key Stage 3 & 4 STEM Biology Teaching Resources

Our free key stage 3 and key stage 4 teaching resources for biology will help make the science engaging and informative, bringing the subject to life using real-world scenarios from the INEOS TEAM UK’s challenge for the America’s Cup, the Formula 1 of international sailing.

Biology is a core subject that feeds into a wide variety of other fields and subjects. Covering a broad range of topics, including cells, energy, ecology, nutrition, and the human body, biology at key stage 3 and 4 will allow your pupils to understand the world around them, as well as the uses and implications of science.

Biology worksheets, questions and answers, and other Key Stage 3 & 4 resources

STEM Crew offer free teaching resources to make biology engaging and interesting for both students and teachers, with videos and worksheets that will challenge, encourage, and teach pupils, opening their eyes to the role biological concepts play in the real world.

With STEM Crew resources, you’ll be able to connect interesting, real life topics within different areas of biology, including the nutrients needed for a healthy diet, calculating energy requirements, and understanding how these requirements can vary due to factors such as age, gender, and activity levels.

Our biology resources introduce the topic of nutrition, discussing how energy requirements vary depending on energy levels, and relating this back to the boat crew and the shore team.

They also cover the different components needed for a healthy diet and how to calculate the energy provided by a specific meal plan. The resources are versatile and can be used in sequence, as an introduction to a topic, or for a quick learning activity.

Each resource includes a main video to introduce the topics, the context, and the challenge or learning. It also includes a variety of worksheets, which will allow the students to explore the biological and nutritional challenges these real-life experiences pose.
